What the job entails

• Thinning cuts remove limbs by severing at point of origin from parent limb.
• Heading cuts remove a portion of an existing limb.
• Must be exact in their work and be meticulous that all tasks are properly completed.
• Usually make decisions and set daily tasks and goals with considerable input from supervisors.
• Must meet daily work requirements.
• May be required to stay on the premises of the farm.
• After successful completion of the interview, pruners will be offered employment on the basis of the Horticulture Award rates.

Work Hours

They will need to usually work more than eight hours per day during harvest times. Usually work six days per week.
